Open Call for Regenerative Farmers: Join the Carbon Farming Med EU Project

19 Jul, 2024
The Carbon Farming MED project is dedicated to supporting Mediterranean countries in attaining the EU’s 2035 climate neutrality objectives within agriculture. This initiative promotes a resilient and sustainable agricultural production system by establishing the Mediterranean region’s first cross-border platform for buying and selling carbon credits.

To build this platform, on-farm data on carbon balance in the Mediterranean region is essential. Therefore, the project is seeking six farms (three in Italy and three in Catalonia, Spain) to participate in case studies. These studies will involve collecting on-farm carbon balance data and testing a new MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) system over a two-year period (until 30 September 2026).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Farms practising regenerative agriculture or having an agroforestry system for more than two years.
  • Availability of at least 0.5 hectares for the study.
  • Adequate infrastructure, including internet access and easy car accessibility.
