At the end of October, BETA (Spain) and CREA (Italy) collaborated in Italy, reaching a significant milestone in the advancement of the Carbon Farming Mediterranean project’s soil methodology.
This collaboration and exchange provided both teams with a valuable opportunity to explore effective sampling methodologies, enhancing their approach to estimating essential soil parameters for future carbon removal measurements.
During the visit, the teams refined soil sampling strategies and discussed best practices for upcoming monitoring and modeling efforts.
By defining and applying this methodology at experimental sites, the teams gained valuable hands-on experience, essential for standardizing the quality and accuracy of soil sampling—an important step toward achieving the project’s objectives.
