The Carbon Farming MED consortium met this week on Crete for a two-day gathering focused on reviewing project progress and planning the next steps. The meeting offered an important opportunity for partners to come together, exchange insights, and strengthen collaboration across all work packages.
The first part of the meeting took place at the Technical University of Crete (TUC), where the Steering Committee held in-depth discussions on achievements to date and priorities for the upcoming months.
The programme continued with a field visit to the Koiliaris Critical Zone Observatory and nearby agricultural test sites. Partners explored the river and the gauging station, discussed the nature-based solution design for riparian forest restoration, visited local springs, and concluded the excursion at the avocado experimental field. These on-site observations provided valuable context for the project’s ongoing research and implementation activities.
The meeting concluded with a strong sense of appreciation for the collaborative spirit within the consortium and the shared commitment to advancing the goals of Carbon Farming MED.
