Carbon Farming MED showcases its digital platform in Sarajevo

3 Feb, 2026

The Info Day “Vision of the Future: Sustainability and Resilience in Focus”, held on 2 February 2026 at the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, brought together representatives of academia, public institutions and practitioners to discuss how the agricultural sector and related industries can prepare for rapid changes in today’s business and societal environment. The programme explored key trends influencing modern agribusiness, placing particular emphasis on sustainability and resilience as strategic priorities for the years ahead.

As part of the agenda, several EU‑funded initiatives were introduced, each addressing different aspects of the ongoing transition—from digital transformation to evolving food systems and climate challenges in agriculture. Within this context, Ema Midžić from Center for Energy, Environment and Resources (CENER 21) presented the key results of the Carbon Farming MED project, focusing on how the carbon farming concept can be translated into practical, field‑level approaches. Her contribution included a brief demonstration of the MRV digital platform, showcasing how digital tools can support farmers and institutions in monitoring, reporting and verifying carbon‑related outcomes in alignment with the European methodological framework.

The event offered a valuable opportunity to connect strategic visions, expert insights and concrete technological solutions. It also created space for a constructive discussion on how such approaches could be adapted and implemented within the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where interest in innovative and climate‑smart agricultural practices continues to grow.
