Event Objective:
Explore how carbon farming can serve both climate and rural development goals, helping Mediterranean countries move towards the EU’s 2035 climate mitigation targets, particularly achieving climate neutrality in agriculture.
What You Can Expect from the Event:
– Learn about the Carbon Farming MED project and how it aims to create a resilient agricultural system.
– Engage in discussions on advancing carbon farming practices in the Mediterranean region.
– Gain insights into Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) of carbon removals, with expert Gerry Lawson.
– Understand the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF) and discuss the role of agroforestry and carbon farming within the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) with DG Agriculture.
– Hear firsthand feedback from farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders on the challenges and opportunities.
