Pre-conference Youth Workshop: Carbon Farming in Practice
Join us at an interactive session introducing carbon farming as a practical response to climate challenges in the Mediterranean, with space for discussion, exchange of ideas, and active participation of young professionals and young farmers.
The pre-conference Youth Workshop will take place in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) on 27 May.
About the event
The workshop is designed as an interactive and adaptable session combining short, focused inputs, visual system exploration (En-ROADS simulator), live audience input, structured small-group exchange as well as collective reflection.
The focus will be on:
- Understanding the real climate impact of land-based solutions
- Exploring practical techniques and species choices
- Identifying business opportunities linked to carbon and resilience
- Creating space for peer exchange across sectors and regions
The session complements the conference by grounding discussions in practical experience and real-world constraints.
Expected Outcomes
After the workshop, participants will:
- Better understand what carbon farming can realistically deliver
- Identify practical techniques applicable to their land
- Gain perspective on carbon as an economic opportunity
- Build initial connections ahead of the conference
